Since I'm on this political kick
"We begin this year and this administration in the midst of an unprecedented crisis that calls for unprecedented action," he said in his weekly radio and Internet address."  (from: http://www.cnn.com/2009/POLITICS/01/24/obama.economy/index.html?eref=rss_topstories)

So says Obama regarding the economy.

Unprecedented crisis?  Someone give this guy a history book.

Unprecedented action?  Good idea.  After all, if you don't know history, every action is unprecedented.  Someone also said something about a problem when people ignore/forget history.  But I can't remember what they said.  Oh, and I think someone said something about some kind of problem when we forget or ignore history, but I can't remember what they said.  Also, I think there is some saying about what happens if we forget what happened in the past, but I can't quite think of the saying.

You're silly how you did that there.

We're all a bunch of pansies so accustomed to being pampered that any delay in our comfort is an "unprecedented crisis."

Your sarcasm skills are now complete. Indeed you are powerful, as Obama has foreseen.

"There are not even words to talk about what this night means. Everybody keeps using the word historic — there’s never been a night like this on the planet earth…Nothing can compare to this."
-- Oprah

Apparently he has been involved in a few unprecedented events. I know that I should probably fear my life for saying this, and i dont mean to take the whole thing lightly, but if you are going to look at the entire history of the world, havent there been worse cases of slavery and inequality (for lack of a better word) in history than that of african americans in america? But saying this, especially coming from a white christian, is equal to saying that black's had it easy and got what they deserved.

I think Oprah is part of the trinity too.

Yeah...
My list of historic events, scale of 1-10:
1. American Revolution: 6
2. Emancipation Proclamation: 7.5 (cool, but a white guy did it)
3. Surrending of Germany, Italy, and Japan to end WW2: 6 (WW2 X 3 bad countries = 6)
4. Israelites freed from 400 years of slavery: 3 (long ago = forgotten)
5. Jesus' Resurrection: 7.5
6. Jesus' birth: 5
7. Ending of the Great Depression: 2 (unless you actually believe FDR solved the problem, then it'd be an 8)
8. Obama becomes president: 11 (he takes me to an 11)

Yeah, Emily, Christians have it all wrong - it's actually the "Quadity" - Oprah is the Head.

The Daily Show sent their British correspondent to the inauguration... and it looked a little like this:

Maybe I can start watching the Daily Show again now that they don't have Bush to bash shamelessly every day. Maybe it'll start being funny again... but I'm not holding my breath.
