I would hope it doesn't rain until the record is set. Breaking records is fun! I'd be disappointed to go through all the misery of a dry spell without having something to brag about or tell my grandkids.
"Yeah, we had the longest dryspell ever back in '08."
After the record was set, then I'd want it to rain. But it probably wouldn't. So a small triumph would be eclipsed by a lot more misery. Then again, I don't have to mow the lawn as much when it doesn't rain.
